I almost decided not to post on my blog today but will do a quick update before I go tackle the vegetable patch.
This week I am going to do my best to get caught up on my Quilty365/Year in My Life quilt. I probably have 8-10 to applique and another 10 or so to get prepped.
I have to admit, the decision to try to be more active has made me a bit emotional this past week or so. So much out of my comfort zone and feeling like a turning point in my life. I've been a bit overwhelmed.
Quilty365 will wind up in November....so close to completing the year that I don't want to give up now!
Here are a couple that I worked on with coffee this morning...
I've been working off and on on quilting my FlowerGarden quilt. I've made it past the halfway point. This has been some of the more difficult work I've done on the longarm, but at the same time lots of fun. There have been many mistakes made, but it's been a learning experience and I will definitely do this kind of work again!
Here is a peek at the pebbles on the top border...
As for the rest, you'll have to wait for another day...I'll post lots of pictures when it's done!!!
I want to send warm wishes to a dear friend who will be facing a long road in the next couple of months. I know that there are many quilters who will have you in their thoughts tomorrow and the coming weeks, xo.
I am linking up with Kathy's Quilts for some Slow Sunday Stitching and with Cynthia at Quilting is More Fun Than Housework for Oh,Scrap!.
Life sometimes gets in the way of sewing! But I hope you manage to do some today. Good luck with your running class!
ReplyDeleteYour heart quilt is going to be worth every stitch Sandra. Thanks for linking up with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteGood for you to try to become more active. I did well last year and then we moved and I basically took the summer off from my power walks Big mistake, now I need to get back on the program and try and eat more veggies and a few less carbs. So hard but I felt so much better and had so much more energy. The long arm quilting is wonderful, all that texture is to die for.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Love those hearts for your Quilty 365! Another great idea! How wonderful that your are becoming more active! You got this! Your long arm quilting is so beautiful. It looks soft and cuddly! Prayers to your friend who is facing a long journey. I'm familiar with those.....Blessings!
ReplyDeleteGosh, Sandra, those pebbles are so cute in your background there! And the ferny horse is so great too.
ReplyDeleteMy advice on the running is to listen to your body no matter what, and to the "experts" only if they are in agreement! Be well. :D
Congratulations on your decision to be more active. I need to do that also. It is hard, but in the long run it will be so worth it.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you will get caught up with your 365 hearts quickly. Your quilting is looking fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI like how you said lots of mistakes but you'd do it again and you've learned because I'm like uh where?? and so with you on that sentiment about longarming. The colours are so vibrant in that quilt!
